Our range of sharps containers are specifically designed to conform to the requirements of AS4031-92. For example, the 1.7mm of solid fibre-board material provides a reserve margin of 70% over the Standard’s minimum requirement on needle penetration! It is further augmented by a special waterproofing barrier on the inside which ensures adequate wet strength and reasonable liquid holding capability and is further augmented by our unique fluid absorbent filling to absorb free liquids which could otherwise slop and create instability in any container.
Further features are: the “scatter lip” which minimises spillage from the top and “Rip-top lid”. Very effective sealing is provided by the “barbed tab” (SFB) and screw top (plastic). All of these materials provide a reserve margin of 70% over the Standard’s minimum requirement on needle penetration!
